“Good Guys”

The Supreme Court ruled on May 30 that a Biden administration-era parole program could be ended under the Trump administration. Court documents and DHS have said that more than 500,000 people from those four countries were shielded from deportation under that program.

From the Epoch Times:
“The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on June 12 that it sent notices of termination to hundreds of thousands of Cuban, Nicaraguan, Venezuelan, and Haitian nationals who are now currently illegally in the United States, saying they must leave the country and that their work permits have been revoked.
‘DHS is now notifying parole recipients [that] if they have not obtained lawful status to remain in the U.S., they must leave immediately,’ the announcement stated.”

Obviously there are “bad guys” included in this group of 500,000 and just as likely in this group there are poor innocent bystanders, hereafter referred to as “good guys.” Do I feel sorry for some individuals and families included in this latter group. Yes, I do. But let’s be clear … they were duped by Joe Biden.
But this is not entirely heartless as these illegal immigrants have also been encouraged by DHS to self-deport through the Customs and Border Protection mobile app, allowing them to get a $1,000 “exit bonus” from the U.S. government. Earlier this week, DHS said that it would revoke any fines levied against the illegal immigrants if they use the app to self-deport.
‘If you are here illegally, use the CBP Home App to take control of your departure and receive financial support to return home,’ Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a June 9 statement. ‘If you don’t, you will be subjected to fines, arrest, [and] deportation, and will never be allowed to return. If you are in this country illegally, self-deport NOW, and preserve your opportunity to potentially return the legal, right way.’”

In a practical sense there is no possible way to go through each of the 500,000 thousand individuals individually to decide if they are “bad guys” or “good guys,” and deport only the “bad guys.” Hopefully, the mobile app will make it possible for the “good guys” to self deport and then legally apply to come back at a later date.
