A few weeks ago we decided to put a bird-feeder in our backyard. One of our friends had one and while at her house it was pleasant to sit on the patio and listen to mix of multiple bird chirping simultaneously.
Initially, we had just a few birds, but then over the course of a week or so the numbers increased
. In addition as the days went on we started to see different colored birds. It was almost as if the word was out … “come over here and get free food at this new bird-feeder.”
Of course, none of this was unpredictable, and consequently we had to refill the bird-feeder more frequently. Birds, just like people will be attracted to free stuff. Our neighbors commented on how nice it was to be able to enjoy the increased music of the bird chirping. The birds were happy, and the neighbors were happy, but neither of them were paying for the bags of bird food. These bags cost $18 each. Initially one bag every two weeks was okay, however, now it’s one bag per week, and encroaching on 1+ per week. Is there going to be a limit?
I was reminded of our bird-feeder when I read about what is happening in Minnesota.
From Townhall:
Minnesota Democrats are doubling down on their radical agenda, pledging to “fight until the very end” to provide free health care to illegal immigrants, on the backs of hardworking taxpayers. As everyday Minnesotans struggle with rising premiums, longer wait times, and an overstretched health care system, progressive lawmakers are prioritizing illegal immigrants over legal residents.
State lawmakers reached a deal earlier this week to implement cuts to MinnesotaCare coverage after the program exceeded its projected enrollment by nearly 30 percent. Initially, the program was designed for 5,700 undocumented immigrants, but within just a few months, over 20,000 had enrolled in the free healthcare program.
Just like birds coming from outside of our backyard to take advantage of the free bird food, could it be that illegals are now coming from adjacent states into Minnesota to take advantage of the free healthcare there?
