Why the Extreme Animosity?

Why the Extreme Animosity ?

Yesterday I went to lunch with a friend of mine. In the past he has told me many times that he is a life-long Republican, and he repeated that again yesterday. However, to my way of thinking … with no offense intended … he is a RINO. He wishes that Trump would be nicer, more compassionate, and less caustic. Yesterday, for no apparent reason, he went off on RFK Jr. In fact he is not the first person who has demonstrated a true hate for RFK Jr. It was like throwing a little match into a gas-filled room …BOOM!
Coincidentally at approximately the same time RFK Jr, the head of HHS, was testifying before the House Appropriation Budget hearing. Although, because of his abnormally raspy voice, I have a difficult time understanding everything that he says, I decided to listen to some of his testimony.
In his opening statement he pointed out the discrepancy between what the U.S. spends on health care (presently $4.7T annually), and the results, especially in terms of chronic diseases and mental health. He stated that although there would be no cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, we should focus spending on”smarter” spending of our health care dollars.

Subsequently, I then listened to what he had to say about illegal immigration and child abuse …
“Under the Biden administration, the Federal Government became the biggest facilitator of child abuse in our country. My predecessor prioritized speed over safety. In stark contrast, this administration is putting a halt to the child trafficking problem. We are fingerprinting every sponsor, DNA testing, income testing and valid ID testing. Nobody gets a kid until they prove they are a family member.”
He related a story about a man who claimed to be a relative of a sixteen year old immigrant girl. After raping and subsequently impregnating her, he then discarded her. RFK Jr’s implication was that similar scenarios have happened much too often, but even if this is an isolated situation, once is way too much.

I do not quite understand the extreme animosity of some towards RFK Jr., and I can be fairly certain that most of the RFK Jr haters did not listen to what he had to say yesterday.
